The Pierce College Digital Arts Media Improvements project aimed to introduce cutting-edge technology into on-campus classrooms, ensuring that students had access to the resources they needed for academic success. The project was completed in March 2021.
The project encompasses renovations within and around existing Building 8200, encompassing various aspects such as demolishing and constructing walls, floors, casework, and flooring, along with ceiling modifications and lighting adjustments. Additionally, it involves establishing electrical and communication infrastructure, testing existing communication equipment, and providing power and data to classrooms and offices. Integration of Smartclassroom audio-visual equipment, installation of new HVAC units, and alignment with the campus BMS systems are also part of the scope. Ensuring functionality of fire, life, and safety systems impacted by the work is paramount. Site enhancements, including path of travel improvements and striping revisions, are also included.
Red Oak Veneer cabinets were installed throughout the classrooms, media art center, storage classroom, and were utilized for teacher's desk.
